Feel Alone? God is Always Nearby

Feel Alone? God is Always Nearby

God is always with us. Even when we don’t feel His presence. He promised to never leave us. Always with us. King David understood this when he wrote Psalm 139.

1,2 O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.

When you sit in the doctor’s office waiting your turn to be seen by your physician. As you sit waiting for your baby to go to sleep. At the end of the day when you sit down to rest, He is with you. When you get home from work, He is aware when you need a few minutes to relax.

He knows our thoughts. The worries that come to us in the middle of the night. When we are feeling insecure or troubled, He knows. If all is going well and you are smiling inside and out, He is aware. When you are suffering from an anxiety attack, take a deep breath and know He is with you. Cling to Him.

3 You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.God knows where you are. He never leaves you alone.

He knows your way to work. Your trip to the grocery store He knows. He knows where you sleep. You are never alone. The place you do your laundry is familiar to Him. He is always near. When you are trying to figure out what to get for supper, He is there. Maybe you are going somewhere you shouldn’t. Remember God is near; reach out to Him. Look to Him.

4 Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.

God knows what you are going to say even before it has entered your mind. He is aware of you and what is important to you.

5 You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

God has you protected all around. His hand is always on you to provide and protect you from the evil one. Waiting for a job interview be aware He is with you. Taking the big step of going off the college might seem like you are alone, but you are not. Even there, God is with you.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Yes, it is beyond our limited comprehension. To think that He cares that much about you and me boggles the mind.

7 Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?

He is everywhere you are. There is no place where you are separated from Him. You are under His protection everywhere. Even places where you can’t imagine He would be, He is there. When things are bad, He wants to gather you into His arms to comfort you and bring you healing and peace.

Kind Father, open our understanding so we can see how much You love and care for us.
