It’s That Simple!

It’s That Simple!

Simple Infusion

Becoming a Christian is so simple.

Simple, simple. It is agreeing with God about our condition. It is receiving His Life. That is all it is. Dare I say it is child-like? Remember Jesus said we must come to Him as little children. It is not complicated.

God tells us that we are cut off from Him, the ultimate life-giver. We were born cut off from Him. We were born with a defect. It is elementary, straightforward, and clear. We need an infusion of His life.

This defective condition is called sin. Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fall short. All. There is nothing we can do to undo our sins. They are there forever. We are stained. All we can do is to agree with Him.

God sent His Son to pay the debt for our sins by living a sinless life and then being executed for something He didn’t do. Romans 6:23  He paid that price so we wouldn’t have to. That was God’s way to reconcile humans to Himself, to bridge the gap, to heal the defect and to remove the stain.

Our part in this uncomplicated life

It is for us to agree with God. To see it His way. To believe that Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to God. It is up to us to believe it so thoroughly that we will turn from our ways of thinking and doing to follow Him. That is called repentance.

It is not saying that I am a Christian, claiming to be a Christian, or committing to a way of life. It is agreeing with God about my lost condition and placing all my faith in Him to receive His life in me.

It is up to me to receive from Him the Life that He has offered. It is like making a cup of tea. When you place the tea bag in a cup of hot water, the water begins to change color as the tea spreads through the water. That is receiving His life.

Simple Life

Everything else, all the rest of the Christian life is a result of this infusion. It is that simple.

There have been many complications added to this life by religious people. Most out of ignorance, some out of the need to control. Many are under the impression they have to live this life the best they can and so prove they are believers. That is false. Some claim to be Christians, but his/her life doesn’t match the words. Don’t let that influence you.

It is not doing in order to be, it is being in order to do. We don’t set about to change ourselves, to improve our behavior. As we allow His life to penetrate every part of our lives, we will change. We will be flavored with His life in us. Like that tea bag in a cup of hot water.

Your whole outlook on life will change. You will be different. Peace.

He that has the Son has life; he that has not the Son has not life. 1 John 5:12

You were created to have Life. Don’t miss your opportunity to fulfill your destiny to be reconciled to your creator.

Words to light your path

2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 5:18  All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself

2 Corinthians 5:20  We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Romans 5:8  but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

PrayerLord God, open our eyes to see the simplicity of the gospel. You made it simple so it is available to all. Amen
