Crucifixion – Did Jesus Die in Vain?

Crucifixion – Did Jesus Die in Vain?

crucifixion

God had a plan to reconcile the world to Himself that rested on the crucifixion of His son. He suffered that we might be accepted.

God so loved us that He submitted His son to us unconditionally and completely. Jesus so loved His Father that He agreed to the plan. He chose to lay down His life, it was not taken from Him. He does not force anyone to choose to accept Him.

But to the few who do receive His Son, to them, He gives the right to be called His child. No one else. He had a perfect plan. Knowing most would reject His Son, His gift of life, He gave anyway.

He gave knowing most would say, “Thanks, but no thanks.”

Or, “No thanks, I’m good enough. My behavior is acceptable. I don’t need His blood to cleanse me.”

To those who reject His offer, Jesus died in vain.

I pray He will not have died in vain for you.

Words to light your path –

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. NKJV

John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. NKJV

John 10:17,18 Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. NKJV

John 1:12,13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. NKJV

Galatians 2:21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain. NKJV

Eternal God, May the crucifixion of Your son not be in vain for us. May we not waste Your grace and love.
