John 11:42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.

John 14:20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

O Lord, help me to understand what it means to be one with You which You spoke about in John chapters 14 and 15. How being one with You makes me one with You in intercession. Show me how to make Your prayers my prayers because the Father always hears You. 

And something even more incredible, help me to be so one with You that my prayers become Your prayers. That part is so astonishing!

I would have never, in all my life, even considered that possibility. I can imagine how shocked the apostles and Pharisees would have been hearing those words. It was unheard of under the old covenant.

But even today, how many have heard of such a possibility. It is astonishing. We pray and sometimes with faith receive what we ask. But for the most part our prayers go unanswered. We are just spinning prayers, hoping to be heard.

Your prayers, on the other hand, are always answered because You always please the Father.

When  considering this, I search my heart before speaking to You. What do I have to pray for that You would take those words and make them Your words? 

I want to be very selective in my words of prayer. I want to be very aware of whether or not we are one. Or how much of self flavors my prayers?  Are we so one that Your thoughts are my thoughts? And are my thoughts so infused by Your Life that they are Your thoughts?
