The Best News Ever!

The Best News Ever!

What could be the best news ever for you? Could it be that you are really loved?

We’ve all experienced love of one kind or another at various times in our lives. Maybe our parents loved us, or not. Sibling love, grandparent love, grandchildren love, or love of friends.

They can love us the best they can, but they don’t know us, really. The deep hidden person inside. Their love is a human love, limited love.

But Jesus, God, loves you while knowing all about you. All the secrets. Nothing is hidden, yet He loves you. With all His knowledge of you He still loves you. Seeing all the things we are ashamed of, He loves us. Not our sin, but us. The real person hidden deep inside.

Looking back over your life you can see all the sins you’ve committed. They have stained you. Through all the dirt and guilt, He sees you. You. The dirt and guilt don’t prevent Him from seeing you and loving you. You are not partially loved. Oh, no. He loves all of you. All.

He wants to forgive you and wash you clean. Freeing you from all of your bad. It isn’t conditional, based on our behavior. “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

We can’t fix ourselves. Only He can. We can’t make ourselves clean and pure. Only He can. Come with your sins to Him so He can wash it away. Don’t hide it. Not only does He know, but you know. Kind of like driving with splatters on your windshield. It is there. You might get used to it, but when in God’s presence you know it is there. Glaring. No denying it. He is holy and you are ashamed.

Unless we receive His life in us when we experience the new birth, we are unacceptable. Stained. Rebellious.

And  yet He loves us and wants us to come to Him for forgiveness and washing.

He loves you. That inner person that nobody really knows, He loves. Isn’t that just the best news ever!

Prayer – O Loving God, our human hearts and minds have difficulty believing someone so holy like You could ever truly love us. Show us how true it is. Illuminate our minds. Amen
