Empty Souls

Empty Souls

Do you feel that if there is a God He has abandoned you?

Where does that feeling come from?

He has created you to be inhabited by His Spirit. Without His presence we are empty souls.

World full of empty souls trying to make sense out of life. Trying to do the best we can, yet never feeling quite satisfied. What is missing?

He is.

Does religion solve the emptiness?

We were meant for Him. Not for any religion. No. No. Religion is full of dos and don’ts created by people. A series of belief statements to be memorized, yet never changing life. Acceptance with various versions of a variety of religions uniting whoever wants to be a part of that group.

God is not religion. He so loved….

The connection with His created people was broken when they believed a lie and chose to walk away from Him. It is the same today and has been through all history. Look where it has got us.

Choosing to abandon God

His created people could have chosen life, but they chose to live independently of their creator. He didn’t abandon them; they abandoned Him. So their souls are left empty of His presence.

He still wanted them. So God made a way to try to woo them back. They didn’t ask for a solution. It was all His idea. All His plan. A way for His justice to be met yet not punish them.

So if we live today independently of our creator it is by our choice because He still wants us. That cosmic loneliness is ever present whatever success we have in our current situation. However our lives turn out, without Him, we come to the end still nagged by that inner loneliness for without Him we are empty souls.

No longer empty

We can only be filled by receiving, actively taking, His life. He offers, but we must receive. It is a choice.

PrayerSovereign God, I humble myself before You today acknowledging my need, my emptiness. I want to be Your child. Only You have the answer. You want to fill me with Your Life making me complete. I reach up to You now and receive Jesus into my being. Wash me and cleanse me completely making me a fit habitation for You. Thank you, so much. Amen.
