Prayer That We Would See Clearly

Prayer That We Would See Clearly

many hands raised praising God

Seeing Clearly

I pray we would see You, Lord Jesus, as the prize above all else. That seeing you, we will see clearly. You, who have been before all time, set aside Your royalty to take on the human form so You could live as one of us. You, who set aside Your rights, personal needs, and desires to learn obedience, making You the spotless lamb that would be sacrificed for our sins.

Although You came as a baby and was sacrificed as a lamb, You will come one day in all Your splendor as described in Revelation.

Seeing Your Preeminence

I pray that You would take preeminence over what we desire, be it respect, honor, drugs, marriage, money, vindication, sex, alcohol, success, etc. That we would turn to You, leaving all else behind to follow You allowing Your presence to permeate every cell of our being making us complete and whole. You, the creator of the world, want to live in us, making us one with You. What an honor!

May we trust You to meet our needs, needs that You instilled in each of us knowing You would not only provide our nourishment, clothing and housing but also, our need for love, approval, and significance as we follow You step by step, in our everyday life, not comparing our plenty or lack to those around us.

Seeing Your Worth

I pray we would see You as worth every minute of our lives. That we would withhold nothing from You but joyfully turn from following ourselves to keep our eyes forward on You, abandoning ourselves to You and Your care.

Quote from 600 years ago – He said, “Oh God, under whom all hearts be open, and unto whom all will speaketh, and unto whom no privy things is hid, I beseech Thee, so for to cleanse the intent of my heart with unspeakable gift of Thy grace, that I may perfectly love Thee and worthily praise Thee!”
