Deception Exposed

Deception Exposed

Truth or deception? How do we expose deception?deception exposed

Jesus explained how to find truth and what it would do for us in John 8:31-32 “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

We are constantly bombarded with lies and deceptions from the world of darkness. These may come through our own thoughts (which confuse us) or from other believers. What is troubling is when we pay attention to the secular world telling us what is truth and what is not.

In a world with a thousand shades of gray, black and white is considered intolerant. Restrictive. Even,  bigoted.  That one is really farfetched. God, who loves all, and has made a way for all to come to Him is not intolerant of anybody or anything except sin. His holy nature cannot tolerate sin, otherwise, He is not being just.

The antidote to deception is the truth.  Where can we find truth? Bible is truth. It will always be truth. To protect ourselves and families we must immerse ourselves in His word. His word is truth. The truth will set us free. It is clear. It is sure. It is fair. It is unchanging. It is based on God’s very nature of love. It is our go-to source for advice.

His word will be a lamp to our feet and light to our path. It is consistent. Unchanging. Reliable. Trustworthy.

Sometimes the Bible makes us uncomfortable, and we are tempted to believe something that doesn’t convict us. Let’s open our hearts to God and accept His correction or encouragement as He gives the truth.

We don’t require another person to tell us what to do. God will speak to us directly through His word, making certain words come alive, so to speak. From beginning to end the Bible is about Jesus and God’s redemptive plan for all people.

We don’t need to be in a trance to hear from God. He speaks to us directly through His word. Being in a trance will open the door for evil spirits. No, trances are mysticism and not how God wants us to come to Him. Where in the Bible can you find we are to use mysticism to reach God?

Concentrating on one word, blocking out all around us is not what He asks of us. We must worship Him in spirit and in truth. We can come boldly to the throne to talk with Him.

Be careful, Be very careful. Let’s be like the Bereans in Acts 17 who searched the scriptures daily to see if what they heard was true.

There is a lot of nice sounding messages being preached, but are they the truth? Search the scriptures for the truth.

Words to light your path

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

Heavenly Father, open our eyes to see Your word as the foundation on which our faith rests. It is reliable and trustworthy, and it will lead us in every area of our lives. May we look nowhere else for guidance.
