Power – potential, capability, Ability to do or act; capability, to give power, to make powerful

If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you…Romans 8:11

Did you know the power that set the sun on fire lives in us?

We house the presence of God. We are His temple. Do you feel the vibrating, quivering, life-giving power coursing through your being? It is there.

“All the worry and fret of God’s children would end if their eyes were opened to see the greatness of the treasure hid in their hearts. Do you not know, there are resources enough in your own heart to meet the demand of every circumstance in which you will ever find yourself? Do you know there is power enough there to move the city in which you live? Do you know there is power enough to shake the universe? Let me tell you once more—I say it with the utmost reverence: You who have been born again of the Spirit of God—you carry God in your heart!”

Watchman Nee,The Normal Christian Life, Tyndale Publishers, 1977, p.141

His power can break any addiction.

His power can love through us when we don’t feel loving.

His power can bring us peace when life is stressful.

His power can transform us into someone brand new.

His power can enable us to do what we are unable to do by our own abilities.

Unlimited power

There is nothing too hard for God. And, His power never runs out. It will last 24 hours, 7 days per week, 12 months per year as long as you live. Do you have something you are dealing with that might last a few weeks? Maybe a few years? Maybe the rest of your life?

Have we forgotten? Do we not understand who lives in us? Does He live there in a cage unable to do anything? Are we content to have our sins forgiven and Jesus in us, but unable to do anything through us?

Are you ready to turn Him loose inside you, to allow His power to flow through your spirit, to give Him permission to live in and through you every minute of every day?

Power thinking

Our natural way of thinking will cloud our understanding. It will be tainted with ways of thinking apart from God. Foolish. Shortsighted. Self-focused. When we think God doesn’t understand we take charge using our natural way of thinking, like we are all-wise and know best.

We have the presence of God so we can understand the mind of God.

We have the mind of Christ correcting our perceptions.

We are one spirit with Christ.

What clarity! What wisdom! What discernment!

Prayer

Father and Creator of all, You have provided all we need for life and godliness. Everything. Your power courses through our being enabling us to be new creatures. Help us to take two steps. One, Help us to open our hearts to receive all You have for us. Second, help us to allow Your power to flow through us meeting whatever comes our way. It pleases You when we do. Amen
