Afraid To Believe

Afraid To Believe

Mt. Rainier from my airplane window.

Are you one of the many that are afraid to believe there is a loving God? Or do you know someone who is hesitant to place their faith and confidence in Jesus Christ? It is definitely a step of faith. A stepping out into the unknown.

If only they knew how incomplete they are without God, the source of true Life. If only they could see how separated they are from God, with a great chasm between them and God. If only they knew that He has already provided a bridge for them. True, it is one bridge only. But, it is a bridge for all who want to come. And God is not willing that any should perish without Him.

He has promised eternal life which begins the moment we receive His life in us. Life that is more than our lives in the natural.

We have broken with God. God wants us to come back to Him so He can graft us into the vine, His Son and begin to receive nourishment, His life in us. He wants us to be part of His family, but He won’t force us. It is a choice.

Maybe you would like to pray with me –

Oh God,

Some are afraid to believe because the enemy has convinced them that You aren’t. They don’t want to step out in faith for fear of finding themselves falling.

Our hearts secretly yearn for You because You put that desire in us. We were designed to be one with You, connected to You as a branch to a vine.

But we have broken with You and went our own way. Every day You wait for us to turn back to You.  To quit rejecting You. If we don’t, the end is death just like a branch cut off will die.

We can only be all we were designed to be if we are connected to You with You in us. Without You, we are a flawed, broken, cheap imitation of what we were meant to be.

Joy is in finding You are all that You say You are. There is no end to finding more about Your goodness and mercy. Help us to step out in faith and trust You. Amen

P.S. Thank you for your prayers as I traveled. I had a very pleasant week, pleasant weather, pleasant conversations, pleasant travel. I included a few photos below, in addition to the top photo.
