Trustworthy Guidance

Trustworthy Guidance

I will be taking a short break from sharing on Lighted Path. It is time I took a trip to see family, so I will be flying 1500 miles cross country to see a brother whose health is very fragile and two sisters. I ask for your prayers.

In the meantime, I leave you with something to think about. All references are from the English Standard Version online at www.biblestudytools.com.

Where is wisdom? Where is the truth? Where is guidance?

Psalm 19:7-9  The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.

Psalm 32:8   I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Psalm 119:89  Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.

Psalm 119:130  The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.

John 17:17  Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

1 Corinthians 1:25  For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1 Corinthians 2:7,14  But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory…The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 3:18-21  Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” So let no one boast in men.

Colossians 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

2 Timothy 3:16  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

2 Peter 1:3-4  His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

John 8:31-32 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

Each day for the next two to three weeks, you might take one of the above references and meditate on it for an entire day letting it ground you and provide you with confidence in God and in His words.

Father in heaven, I ask that You would “fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding” Col.1:9. I pray that You would give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of our understanding being enlightened…Eph. 1:17-18. Amen
