Life on the Highest Plane Pt.5 – Our Part

Life on the Highest Plane Pt.5 – Our Part

In Life on the Highest Plane Pt.5, Ruth Paxson goes on the explain this life is dependent on being full of the Holy Spirit. It is the divine life in the believer that produces spiritual fruit. His life in us has everything that life demands of us. He lives through us. His life can meet anything life throws at us. To deny the Holy Spirit freedom in our life is denying Christ in us, something we don’t want to be guilty of.

Life on the highest plane – cleansing

When we ignore His gentle voice to do what we choose is to grieve Him for it means we choose sin over His will.  As a child of God, our life is now the domain of the Holy Spirit. Now if that isn’t something to cause us to pause and ponder.

If we sin 1John 1:9 “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” This requires complete honesty, true confession. No making excuses for ourselves. No repenting because we feel bad. We must face it squarely for what it is. Sin. It is so much better to confess and be rid of the thing we preferred rather than the desires of the Holy Spirit.

Yield

After our cleansing, what is the first step on our part? Yield. Romans 6:13 “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” Our members are our body.  And 2 Cor. 5:15 “And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”

Ruth Paxson goes into great detail explaining  1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Now that is something to consider. It is no wonder there must be a cleansing first and a continual maintaining. Then she reminds us that we are not our own. We have been bought. Again, food for thought. How does that change your outlook on life? Our motives? Our desires? Our rights? Oh, yes, our rights. Doesn’t sound like we have any. Is that scary? Or are we to the place where we are so completely His that it doesn’t matter? Listen to I Surrender All.

We yield not to be His, but because we are His. We act like Christians not to be Christian, but because we have His life in us. If we, the branches, are connected to Jesus, the vine, He will produce in us His fruit.

We don’t take on a creed or a way of life, or yield to being a missionary, etc. But we yield to Him for whatever His purposes are each day of our life. As a spontaneous, available vessel, always ready for Him to break in on our lives. It is not a struggle. Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you…He will give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Faith

Life on the highest plane cannot be earned or attained; it is a gift. Everything in the believer’s life is a gift, received by faith. Don’t look inward at your natural weaknesses, but upward to Christ who lives in you and empowers you with His Spirit in you, the temple.

There is victory over temptations, weaknesses, difficulties in life. Faith keeps us, and we have power through faith. Are we consumed with doubt, worry, and fear? It is because we are looking at our circumstances rather than at Christ. He isn’t adding weight after weight to see how much we can take. To see if we are strong enough. Not at all.

allowing Christ to carry us in this new life

If we allow Him to carry us and live for us, life will be relaxed and peaceful. Over time we will become more and more like Him until it becomes second nature to allow Him to live through us. We become one with Him. His life is infusing every part of our lives. Galatians 2:20 “…it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

It is taking God at His word. Every day. Every minute. Week after week. Month after month. Nothing is to difficult for God. Jeremiah 32:17 “There is nothing too hard for You.” It is choosing to trust God. Daily read and meditate on the scriptures to learn about God’s character.

Obedience

Our next part in this life on the highest plane is obedience, which is nothing less than long-term surrender and faith. That’s all it is. Day after day, by faith, yielding to our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Did you know that Jesus learned obedience? See Hebrews 5:8-9.

It might be easy in an emotional moment to consecrate our lives to God but is entirely different from a daily decision. For one thing, we become a target of the enemy. He wants nothing less than to destroy us.

When we obey, we acknowledge that God deserves our obedience just by who He is. As members of His family and kingdom, He has the right to guide us in how we act, what we wear, our entertainment, our finances, what we say, and even what we think.

I’m guessing that is a crucial point. Do we believe He deserves our obedience? Do we believe it in every situation, every day? Hmmm….

So to summarize these few points, life on the highest plane is accepted by faith, filled with the Holy Spirit, yielded to God, and characterized by obedience. It is a gift available to every believer. It is not for a chosen few. Is this something you would like? It is what God wants for every believer. So it comes down to a choice. Do we or don’t we yield to our Lord and Savior? He promises an abundant life to those who yield to Him even on Monday morning.

Words to light your path

Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” NKJV

Gracious God, You offer an abundant life to everyone through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us not to listen to Satan’s voice telling us it is a lie like he did to Adam and Eve. Help us to believe You and take that step of surrender.
