Bible Truths Pt.2 – Transforming truths for your life

Bible Truths - Transforming truths for your life

Bible truths that can bring you what you need for your life, transforming it into a life marked by peace, mental health, and joy.

2 Peter 1:3 “as his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature…”

All we need for life and godliness. Not most. Not just the easy stuff. Not just the problems that you can use your common sense for. It will enable you to partake of his divine nature, transforming your thinking, your outlooks, your personality.

Don’t like who you are? Let God transform you through reading His word, receiving His life. It is a spiritual process, not a brain thing. Let Him get beyond your mind to your heart.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 “For this reason, we also thank God without ceasing because when you received the word of God which you heard from us you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.”

It is the words of truth. It is inspired by God. It is what He wants us to know. And it will work in us transforming us into His image. If we look to it for all we need we will begin to mature in Christ, becoming more and more like Him. I will say this straight up, it won’t be politically correct, but you will know in your heart that it is right.

The wisdom of the Bible is unfathomable, more than we will ever need, it has all we need. No situation is beyond the scope of biblical wisdom. I challenge and encourage you to begin to mine the depths of your loving heavenly Father’s wisdom He has provided for you by reading the Bible. Choose to read parts that are unfamiliar to you. You will find gems of wisdom.

What can you learn from the prophet Amos? What about reading the letters Peter wrote? You will find foundational truths that will provide guidelines for your life.

Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Let it live in you with all its wisdom. His words are so amazing that making them part of your life will enable you to counsel others as you share what God has opened to you.

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” In a world of quickly changing social guidelines, His word provides light. When moral values are becoming grey, unclear, and downright backward His word will guide you providing light for your daily walk.

When life suddenly changes and all seems dark and uncertain His word will give comfort and life. We cannot escape unfortunate circumstances. Aged parents need help. A child comes down with an illness. An accident happens. A job ends and income disappears as quickly as fog on a sunny day. His word will be there to guide and comfort you.

Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” There is a peace that is so strong that it anchors your soul. That peace comes from knowing God through knowing His scriptures. Bible reading will make you strong spiritually. It will prepare you for life and all it brings. The more you know of the Bible, the more at peace you will be.

Psalm 119:104 “Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.” Do you want to know the ultimate truth? You will find it by daily reading the Bible. It will fill you with the truth.

Would you like to know what God is like? He tells us over and over again in the Bible. We can find many Bible references that tell us what His character is like such as Exodus34:6, “And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

Here we learn God does not excuse sin. However, He full of mercy, patient, and abounding in goodness and truth. Abounding in goodness. Full of mercy. Not stingy. Like a big waterfall. Lots and lots of mercy. Mercy without end.

He is the Holy One who inhabits eternity with the one who has a contrite heart and is humble as we learn in Isaiah 51:15.

There is much to learn about God. Open up your Bible and begin to read it. Even just one chapter a day. You will feed your soul. You will begin to understand God. You will soon see what you never saw before. If you don’t have a Bible you can go to Bible Study Tools for an online Bible. The link takes you directly to Genesis the first book in the Bible. If you would like a study guide to help you stay on track and keep you going check out Simple Bible Lessons for You.

Hearing a sermon once a week is not enough to feed your soul. That is like eating one meal per week. That will starve a person. And so it is with your spirit and soul, you need to feed yourself daily to have a robust faith. We can stand strong in the truth of God’s word. Rest your faith on God’s word.

You will find encouragement, enlightenment, foundational truths, guidance, comfort, etc. Too many benefits to list all of them. But you get the picture. Like we started out with 2 Peter 1:4 – great and precious promises. He has provided for us in the Bible all we need for life and godliness. All we need. Nothing lacking. Keep searching and you will find the exact wisdom or promise you need for a life that is full of joy and his peace.

Lord God in heaven, open our eyes to all You have provided in Your word for our lives. Help us to see it is as relevant today as it has always been. Foundational truths that do not change over time. You have provided all we need. You are not caught off guard by today’s problems. May our trust in You grow as we learn who You are.
