Joy
Joy is not something God gives us as far as I can tell. In Galatians 5:22 it is in the list of fruit of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit has control of our wills leading us to obedience it is His fruit produced through us. . We are a branch, right? John 15 What is the purpose of a branch of an apple tree? To be a place for apples to grow as the sap from the roots…
Fuller Knowledge of God
Obedience is the gateway to a fuller knowledge of God. If we refuse one little instruction, the process of growing deeper in God stops. We may, and probably do, continue to do church, but we no longer have close fellowship with God and our prayers go unanswered. Be encouraged. Keep moving closer to God by obeying Him. Joy and a deeper relationship with God will result.

Sunday prayer. Have a blessed week!
Sunday Prayer
I have closed my mail chimp account and will no longer send these Sunday prayers or new posts through the emails. I trust you understand. I haven’t been writing much. Life has been busy. But I plan on getting back to sharing with you soon. Thanks for your patience.
It’s All About God and For God
The life of a born-again believer is all about God, serving Him, living for Him, bearing fruit for Him, living in His presence. And proclaiming His excellencies. 2 Corinthians 5:15 We have been bought, purchased. We are not our own. We are no longer the boss of our lives. That life was a life separated from God living in spiritual darkness. He redeemed us and brought us out of that world. Life is no longer about us, self-centirc, self-centered. It…
Fit for God’s Presence?
Prayer O God, we want Your Presence in our worship service. We long for You to visit our humble church with Your manifest presence. What if You appeared in a cloud or pillar of fire in front of us? I don’t know why I feel this so strongly, and I don’t want to be critical, but I believe we are unfit for You to come among us. Yes, it’s true. We are unfit. You are completely, perfectly holy and we…
Perspective – Who or what has our attention?
Could it be that we have it wrong, a wrong perspective of what a believer’s life is? From a believer’s viewpoint, what is a Christian life about? I think we have it wrong. I must listen for clues in dialogues, phrases, sermons and teachings. 2 Corinthians 5:15 says we no longer live for ourselves but for Him who gave His life for us. Is that what I am hearing? Is that what I am reading? My impression of a believer…
God’s Son
Our eternity rests on our response to God’s Son. He is the center of the universe. God’s Son is the center of His world. Each person’s eternal destiny rests on our reception or rejection of Jesus, God’s Son. That alone, nothing else. Not being a good person, not being better than someone else. Not living a sacrificial life. Not volunteer work. Not even dying as a martyr. Nothing else matters. Nothing! Receive or reject? Nothing else determines our future. Not…
Mary vs. Martha
Mary or Martha? Can we be both? Are we living a life of defeat as a Christian? Some defeat? Most defeat? Could it be because we live apart from God? We have our “spiritual times” then live the rest apart from His manifest, conscious presence. Why is that? We want to be like Mary, but spend most of our time being Martha. We read about the abundant life but don’t experience it. We go to church and maybe have an…
