Holiday Stress – Sitting at the feet of Jesus

Holiday Stress – Sitting at the feet of Jesus

Holiday stress

Holiday stress is a dark cloud threatening to steal our joy during this busy time of year. Expectations can overwhelm us. Trying to please everyone weighs us down. Our own plans and preconceived ideas clash with reality.

We succumb to stress, anxiety, and depression. Wouldn’t it be nice to live protected from all this stress?

There is a place where we can stay while carrying out all of our duties. It is sitting at the feet of Jesus. He doesn’t want us to be anxious or worried.

No matter what our lives require of us. No matter the problems that come throughout the day. No matter what we want or don’t want. No matter how we feel.

In our spirit, our inner being, we can stay with Jesus. In our spirit, we can be sitting a the feet of Jesus where there is no stress. No worry. Complete trust.

  • Are you troubled? Look at Jesus.
  • Are you tired? Look to Him for renewing strength.
  • Are you too busy? He will help you clarify what is really important.
  • Are you frustrated? Look to Him for patience.
  • Are you hurt or wounded by someone? Look to Jesus for healing of body and soul.
  • Are you depressed? Look to Him for what is the reality.
  • Are you tempted to get angry? Just look at Him, and it will melt away.

Do you feel like a failure? Do everything, make every decision, and think every thought from this place of safety. You will not be a failure as you stay sitting at the feet of Jesus. You will have a life flavored with peace and inner joy free from anxiety and stress.

Make it your residence. Sitting at the feet of Jesus all of your life. When He floods your heart with peace, don’t thank Him then get up and go your way. When you do that you are once again on your own. Live your life sitting at His feet. It took me years to come to this place, but it is the place to be.

Words to light your path –
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

Lord Jesus, Help us to keep our eyes on You trusting You to provide all we need for life. May our lives reflect You and Your peace.
