Jesus, Your Personal Counselor Who Has All the Answers

Jesus, Your Personal Counselor Who Has All the Answers

Wouldn’t it be great to have a personal counselor, someone who has all the answers for our emotional needs? I’m sure the counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists would like to have knowledge that could really make a change in the emotional lives of their clients. If a counselor had all the answers people would be flocking to that person’s door from all over the world.

Many people are secretly lonely and have no one to talk to about their problems. They don’t know how to pray and aren’t aware that Jesus has all the answers.

Psychology and psychiatry are constantly looking for answers for troubled people. It seems the best they can do is diagnose. They are aware of the problems, but their solution is to let the client talk themselves through their problem and then ask the client what they think they should do. Medication may be offered to control the physical symptoms of their emotions, but that is all it can do. They don’t know how to fix a person emotionally.

Why is that? The root of all our problems, in our natural state, is we are cut off from our creator. He made us. He wants to be our source for all we need for life. Unless and until we are born again, we are cut off from Him.

So when our soul has problems (our mind, will, and emotions), we are left to our own resources. We have to draw on our own strength, knowledge, and emotions. That doesn’t give us the needed help. That doesn’t provide us the freedom we need.

What does the Bible say about the wisdom of man? 1 Corinthians 3:19 says, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” Only God has all the answers, but most professional counselors are blind to God’s answers. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “whose mind the god of the age has blinded…”

What advice do you need? Do you want true, eternal wisdom? The source is Jesus Christ. If you are born again and are of the household of God, you have direct access to Jesus Christ. You do not need to go through any person. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Now isn’t that awesome? Going directly to the throne of God, where Jesus sits at His right hand, to find help is the privilege of every believer. He is our own personal counselor that can provide real, long-lasting solutions to our problems.

Let’s be students of Jesus. Let’s sit at His feet and learn from Him all we can. Sitting at His feet puts us into the frame of mind of a student or disciple. He has all wisdom and all knowledge which He wishes to give us as we take the time to learn.

Let’s go to Jesus for “In him is hidden all the treasures of wisdom and all knowledge,” Colossians 2:3.  He has all the answers.

If you would like to learn more about his teachings you might study the New Testament. You can find a free online study guide for you to use in your study here.

Lord God, help us to see that You have all the answers for our lives and we can learn about them by studying Your word. May we come to Your throne with the boldness that we have because of our position in Jesus Christ.
