How to Live With No Regrets

No Regrets

Would you like a simple formula for how to live with no regrets? Have you had days that ended with a sense of failure? You did something or said something that you later regretted. I know what that is about.

I have learned the key to avoiding such days is to let Christ live through me. It is no longer I that lives, but Christ that lives in me. Every day of the week.

You don’t live. Yes, you read it right, you don’t live. What do I mean by a statement like that?

Jesus Himself gave us the same advice.  He said in Luke 9:23 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

The cross is an instrument of death. He wants us to look at our life apart from Him as dead. And in Romans 6 Paul tells us that when Christ died, we, by faith in Him, died with Him that as He was raised to a new life we too, by faith, would be raised to new life – His life in us.

Since He is deity He does not make mistakes. He has no regrets. This is the victorious Christian life.

God wants to take care of all that is important to us. He can be trusted. He loves us and wouldn’t hurt us. We can let go of all we hold dear and turn our lives over to Him.  Then we can give Him our full attention.  He will show us how to live. If we follow Him closely, He will guide our lives, and His life will grow in us expressing itself through us. This is how to live with no regrets.

Let him live for us. See here for more about how to stop trying so hard to be a good Christian.

Words to light your path –

Romans 6:1-6

1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?
2By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
6 We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
Gracious Father, help us to see there is a life available to us to enable us to live with no regrets. Thank you so much.
